Kat Robichaud Chats About Her Experience On The Voice, Her Signature Kick, Outrageous Female Singers and Her Favorite Charity

After four highly-popular seasons, the hit TV singing competition, The Voice, has returned for a fifth season.  And among the couple dozen R&B, pop, and country vocalists stands an enigma of a performer.

She prances around the stage like a ravenous beast on six-inch heels.  Her eyes have an intensity that screams “I am the queen of this jungle – you better watch and listen.”  And she has a roaring voice that is every bit as pleasing to the ear as it is powerful.

That performer is Kat Robichaud.  The North Carolina native is bringing a supremely hard-rocking style to The Voice, giving neither the coaches nor the audience any choice but to pay attention.

Fresh off an impressive victory in the Knockout Round this week, Kat sat down with Helping Hands Rock Reviews to discuss her experiences on The Voice, the musical career that led her and her unique style to the show, and what her dream is once the season is over.

Album Review: Halestorm Gives Rollercoaster Ride Through Rock History With "ReAniMate 2.0"

Halestorm has been a band that has done nothing but climb the hill of musical success since their first major label release, the live One and Done from 2006.  Perhaps their biggest jolt upwards, however, came after the release of last year's The Strange Case Of..., which garnered the heavy rockers a big chunk of new fans.

The smart thing to do after achieving this level of success would be to feed that new pack of fans with another collection of music before too long and Halestorm did just that with the release of ReAniMate 2.0:  The CoVeRs eP.  The "2.0" is in the title because the band released a similar effort, ReAniMate:  The CoVeRs eP, a couple of years earlier.

A quick look at the track listing suggests that the EP may be full of surprises - many of the song titles don't ring the proverbial bell.  So, how surprising is the musical material on the EP itself?

Album Review: Arson City Offers Short & Sweet Introduction With Self-Titled EP

Despite an appearance on the 2011 Carnival of Madness Tour and a great 2012 release on Atlantic Records, Emphatic was a band that came up just shy of becoming a household name in the hard rock community amid significant lineup changes.  While that group is preparing to release its next album with its lone original member, former vocalist Patrick Wilson has re-emerged with his own project, Arson City.

Apparently not wanting to waste any time returning to the minds of those who were exposed to his stellar vocals while Emphatic toured with the likes of Halestorm and Art of Dying, Wilson and company have just released a 4-track/3-song self-titled EP.  So, is the new Arson City an up-and-coming band to watch or a last-gasp effort by Wilson to retain Emphatic fans before they associate a new voice with that resilient and talented band?

Album Review: Girl On Fire Brings The Heat With "Not Broken"

Hardcore.  Metalcore.  Deathcore.  Grindcore.

Sometimes it seems like, if a band rocks hard, it has to dip at least one toe into the core-suffixed waters with growling, drop-tuned instruments, and angry facial expressions that would give nightmares to Satan himself.  Well, that is not the case with new artist, Girl On Fire, who recently released their debut album Not Broken on Century Media Records.

Don't get me wrong, Girl On Fire brings their share of energy and angst to their music.  But they clearly eschew the heavier approach of their label mates in favor of a more arena rock path towards the musical promised land.
